About this template

Ash and Clay is a website template for a ceramics studio shop, built on one idea: the whole collection stands on a single oak shelf and the visitor scrolls along it. The demo presents a Portland studio of one potter making bowls, plates, cups and vases in small batches, photographed in natural light with real shadows on the board, with the price in US dollars under each piece and the workshop appearing between every six pieces.

The home page is the shelf: twenty-four pieces in a row, sideways on desktop with a progress line and arrow keys, top to bottom on phones, interrupted by full-height photographs of the wheel, the kiln and the glazes, and closed by customer words, the three steps of making a piece and the studio's address with a map. Shop shows the same pieces as a grid with filters for Bowls, Plates, Cups and Vases and a sort by newest or price. Each of the twenty-four product pages pins a four-photograph gallery on the left while the name, price, glaze, dimensions, description, quantity and Add to bag scroll on the right, with three related pieces below. Collections holds Sea and Earth as two shorter shelves. The bag persists in the browser and its checkout opens an email with the pieces, quantities and total. The studio page tells the potter's story with photographs and lists four stockists; Care guide, Shipping and returns and Contact answer the practical questions.

To make it yours, tell Firevibe in a chat about your studio: the name and city, the pieces with their prices, glazes and dimensions, your photographs on the shelf and in use, the maker's story, your stockists and the email that receives orders. The shelf, the pinned galleries and the bag stay as they are.

Best use cases

Independent pottery studio

The shelf places a single maker's work beside photographs of the workshop and a three-step account of how a piece is made; the studio page gives the potter's story its own place.

Handmade tableware shop

Bowls, plates and cups have filters, dimensions, glaze notes and care links, and each product page takes a quantity before the piece goes into the bag.

Small-batch vase maker

Four photographs per piece and the Sea and Earth collections group vases by glaze and tone, with a 'You may also like' row on every page.

Email-order craft shop

The bag opens an order email with the contents and lines for name, address and a message; shipping and returns are explained on their own page, and visits are by appointment.

How it works

  1. Use the template

Sign up or log in, and the template's code is copied into a new project of your own. The site is served right away, at its own address.

  2. Change it by chat

Describe what you want different: the words, the images, the pages, the colors. Firevibe edits the code and the preview updates.

  3. Publish

Put the site live on a firevibe.dev address, or connect your own domain.

Features

The shelf

Twenty-four pieces stand on one photographed oak board; the wheel and the trackpad move the shelf sideways, a progress line shows where you are, the arrow keys step piece by piece.

Workshop interruptions

Every six pieces the shelf gives way to a full-height photograph of the workshop, so the shop tells the studio's story as you move along it.

Hover lift and second photograph

A piece lifts slightly under the cursor and cross-fades to its photograph in use.

Pinned product gallery

On a product page the four photographs stay pinned with thumbnails and arrow keys while the details scroll beside them.

Collections as shelves

Sea and Earth each get a short text and a shorter shelf of their pieces.

Filterable grid

Shop lists all twenty-four pieces with category filters and a sort by newest or price for visitors who prefer a grid.

Bag in the browser

The bag drawer keeps items, quantities and the total across visits without an account, and bumps its count when a piece is added.

Order by email

Checkout opens an email to the studio with the bag's contents, quantities and total, and lines for the customer's name, address and message.

Care, shipping and returns

Short pages explain washing, temperature changes, delivery times for the United States and abroad, and returns, linked from every product.

Studio and stockists

The studio page combines the maker's story, five alternating photographs and a list of four shops that carry the work.
