About this template

Mara Wells is a website template for a nonprofit, built around one question a donor asks: what does my gift do? The home page is a ladder of five amounts set very large, each paired with a photograph of exactly what it pays for (a bag of cement, a pump head, a committee's training, a full repair, a new well) and two sentences, with a Give button that opens an email with the amount in the subject and the bank details in the body. The demo is an organisation founded in Nairobi in 2012 that builds and maintains hand-pump wells across two Kenyan counties, 214 so far, photographed in hard African light and written without pity.

Above the ladder the hero shows a pump handle in a child's hands with 'Water, close to home.' and a counter of wells built that climbs from zero as the page loads; below it a drawn map of the two counties with a dot per well, three stories as cards, the year's numbers as four large figures that count up, the foundations as a plain list, a newsletter line that mails and the office with a map. Wells lists the 214 by village with the year and the status, filtered by county, and gives the twelve newest a page each with the committee's names, the date, the depth, the people served, three photographs and the story of the day it opened. Stories holds twelve long pieces with photographs. How it works explains the five steps from a village's request to a running well. Give repeats the ladder with the bank details, a line on receipts and the foundations' way of giving. Volunteer offers three ways to help by email. People presents the three founders, the eight field staff and the board. Annual report covers three years of figures and stories. Contact gives the office, phone, email and WhatsApp.

To make it yours, describe your organisation in a chat with Firevibe: your amounts and what each buys, your projects as records, your stories, your people, your bank details and your office. The ladder, the counter and the map are rebuilt around your work.

Best use cases

Clean-water nonprofit

Wells as records with village, year and status, the twelve newest with their committees and photographs, and five amounts a donor can picture.

Community development charity

Committees and training have their place in the five steps and in the stories, so local participation is shown, not claimed.

Infrastructure trust

Projects with dates, status and photographs, and three annual reports that connect the figures to the field.

Volunteer organisation

Three ways to help (a trip, skills from afar, a fundraiser), each with a paragraph and an email button, and the people behind the work named.

How it works

  1. Use the template

Sign up or log in, and the template's code is copied into a new project of your own. The site is served right away, at its own address.

  2. Change it by chat

Describe what you want different: the words, the images, the pages, the colors. Firevibe edits the code and the preview updates.

  3. Publish

Put the site live on a firevibe.dev address, or connect your own domain.

Features

The ladder of gifts

Five amounts in the local currency with euro and dollar equivalents small beside them, each with a photograph of what it buys and two sentences, revealing rung by rung on scroll.

Give by email

Each Give button opens an email with the amount in the subject and the account name, bank, number and reference in the body; no checkout.

Live counter

The number of wells climbs from zero as the hero loads; four annual figures count up once as they enter.

Drawn map

The two counties drawn in one ink with a dot per well, the dots lighting in the order the wells were built and the newest marked.

Wells as records

Every well by village with the year and the status (running, in repair), filtered by county; the twelve newest with a page each.

Stories

Twelve long pieces with photographs in an alternating layout, a committee chair, a school, a repair in the rains.

How it works

Five steps from a village's request to a running well, with the committee's role and the maintenance plan.

Annual reports

Three years as pages of figures and stories: wells built and repaired, people served, money raised and spent.

People

Three founders, eight field staff and the board as portraits with roles.

Parallax photographs

A rung's photograph scrolls slightly slower than the page; the amounts and the text never move.
