Design direction

Wavelength lives in a near-black world the color of a darkened recording studio — not pure black (#111010), but the warm dark of aged wood and felt acoustic panels. The primary accent is a confident burnt coral (#E8664A), the color of a vintage On-Air studio light: warm enough to feel human, saturated enough to demand attention on progress bars, play buttons, and active states. Text is off-white (#F2EDE8) with a slight warmth — never cold or blue-white. Cards sit one step above the background (#1C1917), creating depth without harsh borders. The entire UI defers to podcast artwork: nothing competes with cover art, which is always displayed at full fidelity with a soft shadow. Typography is Inter throughout — used with confident weight contrast: 700 for episode titles, 400 for metadata, 500 for UI labels. Metadata like duration and dates live in a warm gray (#8A7F79) that recedes politely. Interactions feel tactile: the scrubber thumb is a coral dot that grows on touch, speed selector pills have a pressed-glass feel. The app never shouts — it whispers intelligently, like a great set of headphones.
